Hi Georgia - thanks for stopping by.

As you consider which economic system is more in accord with Biblical standards, I believe that socialism and capitalism (at least the version of the greedy apostate or pagan) both fall short. Endorsing an economic system was not the purpose of the article. If you are interested in this topic, I encourage you to pick up a copy of Biblical Economics by my friend R. C. Sproul, Jr.

I was given this topic for a magazine article. My writing assignment was to simply show that many of the "socialistic" principles are actually better applied in the home, where father and mother seek to raise children in the nurture and admonition of the Lord. Thus, this was not a treatise on economic philosophy.

With regard to my position on the family, I certainly do not worship the family nor the traditional family structure. As a pastor, I write on many topics. The family is just one of them. Granted, I do see the family as an important institution. It was the first social structure that God developed. Healthy families become the core of healthy churches. And healthy churches become the core of healthy nations. And the family is one conduit whereby the Kingdom of God expands.

I agree with you that, in God's Providence, not every Christian marries. Not every Christian is given children. And, to that end, I also preach and teach on topics relevant to unmarried Christians as well.

However, the Bible itself repeatedly addresses issues related to the family - family is important to the expasion of the Kingdom. And, since our ministry, Family Reformation, has a specific focus on ministering to families, it makes sense that I will often teach on family issues.

I hope this helps. Feel free to stop by any time.

Grace and peace,

"Still, there are concepts of socialism that are beneficial for the Christian family. And, by the Grace of God, properly lived out, the result is a faithful Christian family that understands the concept of sharing, working, and serving together for the advancement of the Kingdom."

Your quote the I copied and pasted above tells me that christianity is closer to socialism than capitalism.

You do not mention how God blessed us with great minds that contributed to the inventions and technology throughout history. What about the car you drive, the electricity to light your house, the computer to get the Word out to more people, advances in the medical field to save lives, and other technologies to impove the quality of our lives.

I agree that family is important. Not everyone has a good supportive family who values the potential of their children.

With all due respect I know you mean well but you appear to worship the family structure. God does use some people to multiply. He also uses people who do not have families for other ministires. Not every person in the bible had families.

My rather eccentric Grandmother many moons ago looked into our family history. I am very proud of the link to Clan (son of ) Donald.

In the olden days people would join clans for protection and the history of this clan is beautifully unique and too much to write here.

I went on a kind of personal; pilgrimage to Glencoe, the silent witnesses and the Celtic cross in the village.

I have to say, it is one of the most beautiful places on Earth and even in Scotland a country wild and rugged it stands out.

I am very proud of my heritage and also my family have always had the Personal shield and Crest of McDonald hanging somewhere.

Though born in London and the name has changed to include Jeffrey after the judge, it is with a sense of pride that I have that blood running through my veins.

I never did meet anyone nice called Campbell.

Knox was way off in his time, and so are any who take Isiah to be forbidding women authority.

Other than this, and the fact that I think it should be called "The Monstrous Regiment AGAINST Women" (since it's basically about systems that hurt women, from immodesty to abortion and abuse in the army, not by far crimes only committed by women), I totally loved the film.

But I do have one big question: I saw this on youtube, and noted an abortion protesting scene, in which a man held a poster with a graphic picture of an aborted baby on it. Was this the abortion scene you guys mentioned, or was there another one I missed, which actually showed the remains of a dead baby?? Please answer, I'd like to buy this DVD but I HAVE to be warned if there's such a scene. Thanks.

Run indeed, and that is exactly what we did when we left our former church about a year ago now. It met just about every one of those 10 signs and we knew we were in the wrong place when the female pastor preached a Mother's Day sermon and stated that Titus 2 was antiquated and doesn't really apply to modern-day theology, so we could just disregard it. Methinks she was trying to justify her position.

I am happy to say that we have found a wonderful, new church where the Bible is the guide for faith and practice and isn't afraid to say so.
