“We must hang together, gentlemen, or we will most assuredly hang separately.” – Benjamin Franklin

As many of you know, the quote above comes from one of our founding fathers, Benjamin Franklin. He meant it as a challenge to those gathered for the signing of the Declaration of Independence. He wanted to make sure they understood the importance of remaining unified for the cause of freedom. If they did not, he feared the British would prevail, and they would all be executed – one at a time.

This is one of the most important posts I will write this year. Our nation was founded on the principles of Judeo-Christian culture – on the Word of God and its application in all aspects of society. Here we stand, about to celebrate the historic signing of the Declaration, gathering around for feasts and fireworks; and behind the scenes our freedoms are being trampled—our very way of life is being threatened. Our Christian heritage is being dismantled by legislation and court rulings, one plank at a time.

And it all starts at the polling box – the place where we vote—or don’t.

As more and more liberals take office, more of our freedoms, and more of the Judeo-Christian values on which this country was founded, disappear.

I encourage you to watch the frightening video below. It documents the activity of a wealthy homosexual named Tim Gill, who is vigorously working to pervert the values and culture of America. It should stand as a wake up call to us all…

I pray you see my concern. I have always argued that the future of America rests on a foundation of conservative and godly men at the local and state level. Of course, we should be concerned about the major races as well. For instance, just last week, the Supreme Court ruled to uphold the 2nd Amendment to the Constitution, protecting our right to keep and bear arms. But it was a close decision: 5 jurists for the Constitution, 4 against.

I do not support every decision President George Bush has made over his tenure in office, but his nominees to the nation’s highest court came through on this one. I shudder to think who Senator Obama will nominate to the court, should he become president.

The homosexuals in America represent a very small minority, probably less than 2%. Yet they also represent some of the wealthiest people in the land.

Recently, there were Gay Pride parades across America. The media ran stories on the event, but did not run many pictures. Do you know why? It is because the flagrant exposure of debauchery would embarrass and infuriate many. The images would probably energize many Americans to go to the polls and vote against those on the left. This is an appeal for you to do more than get out and vote (although I pray you will). This is  also a plea for you to put your money where your mouth is. Friends, we need to stand together. We should support those in local and statewide office who will stand for morality and law based on the Word of God and Constitution.

As a personal request, I encourage you to consider supporting Matt Chancey of Alabama. Matt is the first homeschool graduate I know of running for a major state office. I know Matt. I trust Matt. He is a young man who will boldly stand up for what is right.

And he is in a dogfight of a race. A runoff election will be held July 15th between Matt and a more “mainstream” politician. Her name is Twinkle Cavanaugh.
