Because the Lord condemns the murder of children. Yes, children. Not fetal mass, not the product of conception, children.
I was very excited to hear that we had no record of abortions in Peoria for the week of April 30. While this is great news, we still stand at 524 children aborted this year.
For those who doubt that we are talking about children, or for those who wonder why I believe we should all be active in prayer for the end of this practice, I encourage you to watch this video. While it does not show an actual abortion, the fact that we are discussing the death of children is very clear. Parental discretion is advised.
If you would like to stand in silent prayer for the victims of abortion here in Peoria, contact Helpers of God’s Precious Infants - (309) 453-7493.
James,
Where do you get your abortion statistics? I would like to get the same sort of information here in North Carolina.
Thanks.

Hi Les,
We have a couple of ladies on the Central Illinois Right to Life board who stand outside the clinic in our community – rain or shine – observing the door. Over the years, they have developed great discernment on the outcome of a visit.
Obviously, these observations are subject to error – but I believe them to be close.
Check with your local Right to Life. They may have a similar ministry.
Grace and peace,

We spoke with our local crisis pregnancy center just last week and received some encouraging statistics. So far in 2008 they have had the joy of seeing the fruit of their months of counseling result in 24 births (that took place Jan. through April) the victory of individuals choosing life!
When asked how often someone that comes to them leaves still choosing abortion, they said it does happen, but rarely.
On another note, they are a Christian organization and see their first responsibility to be that of sharing the gospel with each individual that seeks their counsel and support, each and every time they have contact with them. When asked what percentage of those that come for consistent counsel embrace the gospel message – the response was 100%. This does not include everyone who walks through their doors, or even everyone who chooses life, just those that come for consistent counsel – they also help to place these young believers in a local church.
It is such an encouragement to see the work God is doing in our community.
